He therefore commended the Ashanti King for his leadership role in developing his people in oneness and greatness.

The spiritual leader who made this commendations in Tamale, after visiting the 10th year anniversary of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in Kumasi, stated: “I therefore use this occasion, that attracted international patronage, to say that the beautiful chieftaincy institution is coming from Ghana itself; and I humbly appeal to the government of Professor Atta Mills to have the courage of the Otumfuo to bring about permanent peace in this country as the King of Ashanti has exhibited”.

The Imam advised that, the President, Prof.  Mills and his Veep should live above emotional reactions and exhibit true statesmanship to move the country forward.

“They should also exhibit a great deal of non-partisanship, which is one of President Mills unifying slogan – “Father for All”.
He urged the President to sustain and maintain his fatherly slogan for all and not let issues of land and cars seizure derailed his vision to rule the country in the right direction.

“I also humbly appeal to the President to honour his promise of the Rule of Law; so that the wrong signal that people conceived that he and his government are out for witch-hunting could stop”, he appealed

In view of the economic hardships as a result of the global crisis, Sheihu Imam Rashid urged the government to work around the clock to bring down the suffering of the masses. “There is no doubt that living conditions in Ghana are beginning to be unbearable”, he admitted

“Putting in place a team of economic experts to advice the president is in the right direction and there is no doubt that they will deliver. The cordial relationship between the President and his Vice and the coordination between the two is commendable. The relationship between the two is an exhibition of maturity required of the high office of the country. The exhibition of non-partisanship is a strong factor to unite this country”.

He wished for Allah’s guidance and peace for the President, the government and the people of Ghana, saying, “I will not end my prayers without praying that the Almighty Allah should give us peace in Ghana and the world at-large, because peace is paramount as far as the very existence of mankind is concern.
